Job Title: Blacksmith

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Blacksmith to join our team. As a Blacksmith, you will be responsible for creating, repairing, and customizing metal items using traditional blacksmithing techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

- Forge, shape, and heat-treat metals to create custom tools, decorative items, and functional pieces
- Repair and restore existing metal items, such as tools, machinery, and historical artifacts
- Design and create custom pieces from client specifications or own designs
- Operate and maintain blacksmithing equipment, including forges, anvils, and hammers
- Select and source materials, including metals and fuels
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and preferences
- Maintain a safe and organized workspace

Requirements:

- 2+ years of experience as a blacksmith or in a related field (e.g., metalworking, farriery)
- Strong knowledge of blacksmithing techniques, tools, and materials
- Ability to work with various metals, including steel, iron, and bronze
- Physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a hot environment
- Good communication skills and ability to work with clients
- Portfolio or examples of previous work

Certifications/Licenses:

- Certification in blacksmithing or a related field (e.g., ABANA certification)
- OSHA certification (or willingness to obtain)

Working Conditions:

- Work will be performed in a blacksmithing studio or shop, with exposure to heat, sparks, and loud noises
- May be required to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
